Delete your account
How to delete your account in Eden by Cendance, what is removed, what the organization keeps, and how long it takes.
Who this is for
This page is for people who use Eden by Cendance, the member app published by Cendance Technology Inc. and offered to you by a church or ministry on Cendance. Deleting your account removes your membership and your information from that organization's records on Cendance. Organizations that want to close their whole Cendance account contact their Cendance representative instead.
How to request deletion
You make the request yourself, from your own signed-in account. Nobody else can request it for you, and we confirm it with a code sent to your email (or with your password if you sign in by phone), so a request cannot be made from a borrowed device without your knowledge.
- Open Eden on your phone or go to eden.cendance.com and sign in with the email you use for your church.
- Open your Profile, then choose Delete account under Account.
- Read what will be removed and what is kept, then choose Continue.
- Enter the code we email you (or your current password), tick the confirmation, and choose Delete my account.
- You receive an email confirming the request and the date it runs. If you did not ask for it, use the Keep my account link in that email.
If you cannot sign in
You do not need the app installed. The sign-in at eden.cendance.com only needs access to the email on file with your church. If you no longer have that email or you signed in by phone without a password, contact your church directly, or write to Cendance Privacy with your name and the organization you belong to. We verify requests by replying to the email address on file before anything happens.
How long it takes
Nothing is removed for 14 days after your request. In that time you can change your mind from Eden or from the email we send you. The organization may complete the deletion sooner. Once it runs, you receive a final email that says what was removed and what was kept. Encrypted backups clear on their normal cycle within 30 days.
What is deleted
Everything that identifies you, and everything you wrote or asked for in Eden.
- Your profile: name, email, phone number, address, date of birth, photos and any other details
- Your sign-in, password and app registrations, so no one can sign in as you
- Your place in your household, and invitations you sent
- Posts, comments, chat messages, reactions and testimonies you wrote
- Care requests and bookings, with their notes and documents
- Form answers you submitted, and reservations and serving assignments still ahead
- Learning progress, quiz attempts and certificates
- Notifications and notification settings
What is kept, and why
Some records stay because the organization is required to keep them or because they no longer identify you. None of them carry your name or contact details after deletion.
- Records of gifts, purchases and payments (amount, date, fund, receipt number). Organizations must keep financial records for tax and audit purposes, for up to seven years.
- Attendance and check-in history as anonymous counts.
- The record that you opted in or out of email or text messages (channel, date, terms), as evidence of consent.
- Your email address on the organization's do-not-contact list, so it does not email you again.
- The deletion request itself, without your personal details, as the organization's audit trail.
Questions
If you have questions about a deletion, or about what an organization kept, contact the organization first. You can also reach Cendance Privacy; include the name of the organization you belong to.
