CendancePeopleFree

Know, organize, and care for your community.

The shared system of record the rest of the suite stands on: every person, household, and group, and the care work that surrounds them. When someone checks in, gives, joins a group, or fills a form, it all lands on one profile.

Built for pastoral care, membership, and administration teams.

People is free for your church. You only pay when you add other Cendance products.

What's inside

Everything People covers.

People and Households

One record per person, and households that keep families together. Whatever someone does across Cendance, checking in, giving, joining a group, filling a form, it lands on the same profile, so the person answering the phone on Tuesday sees the same story the check-in desk saw on Sunday.

  • Profiles. Contact details, photos, and key dates, including birthdays captured with or without a year.
  • Households. Parents, children, and shared addresses stay linked; members can build their own household from the member app.
  • One record everywhere. Check-ins, giving, group membership, and form responses all land on the same person.
Preview of adding a person from a form, importing a list, and a household showing parent and child relationships.

Groups

Small groups, ministries, and departments with real membership, not a spreadsheet copy. Open a group to anyone or put an approval gate on the door, schedule who serves and when, and let people answer the invitation in a tap while leaders watch the roster settle.

  • Open or gated. Groups can welcome anyone or require approval before someone joins.
  • Rosters and scheduling. Plan spots, send the invites, and watch accepts and declines land.
  • Leaders see their people. Every leader gets their roster; you keep the whole picture.
Preview of creating a group, scheduling its roster, and people accepting or declining their spots.

Segments

Rule-based lists built from person properties: sex, check-in activity, marital status, age, anything on the record. Build the audience once and it maintains itself; when someone starts matching, they join the list, and when they stop, they leave it. Every campaign that uses the segment stays current without another export.

  • Any property. Combine demographics, activity, and household facts into one rule set.
  • Always current. Membership updates itself as people's records change.
  • Used everywhere. Point a campaign or a report at a segment and it follows the list.
Preview of building a segment from person properties like sex, check-in count, and marital status, then sending an email campaign to it.

Follow-ups

First-time guests, care cases, and next steps, held in a queue that will not let a busy week swallow them. Log a follow-up in seconds, hand it to the right person, and see it through from assigned to done, with the whole trail on the person's record when it closes.

  • Assign and track. Every follow-up has an owner, a due date, and a status.
  • Start automatically. A first visit or a form response can open the follow-up for you.
  • Close the loop. Completed follow-ups stay on the person's story, not in someone's inbox.
Preview of logging a follow-up, assigning it, and working the queue to done.

Celebrations

Birthdays, anniversaries, and milestones surfaced before they pass, so the moments that matter to your people never slip by unnoticed. Mark a moment by hand when you want a personal word, or let the automation carry the week and catch everything you did not get to.

  • Every kind of moment. Birthdays, anniversaries, baptisms, and the milestones you define.
  • A word from the church. Send wishes by email or text, scheduled for the day itself.
  • Hands-free if you want. Turn the automation on and no moment goes unmarked.

People reports

Growth, connection, and engagement measured over any range, so decisions about people start from what is actually happening rather than what it feels like from the front row. Open a report, stretch the range from a quarter to a year, and hand the board a clean export.

  • Any range. The same report tells the 90-day story or the twelve-month one.
  • Ready to share. Export what you see for the board pack or the staff meeting.
  • People, not just totals. Reports connect back to real records you can act on.
Preview of opening a headcount report, changing the range, and exporting it for the board.

Automations and AI

Configure it once and People runs itself: follow-ups start when guests arrive, care teams hear about birthdays, and records stay tidy without anyone remembering to tidy them. Describe what you want in plain language and Cendance builds the automation for you; start from a template when you would rather not start from scratch.

  • Plain language. Say what should happen and the automation is drafted for you.
  • Templates. Common patterns, ready to switch on and adapt.
  • Across the suite. Triggers and actions reach across the Cendance suite, not just People.

Questions

Asked and answered.

Can we bring our existing people data with us?

Yes. The guided importer takes a spreadsheet export from your current system, lets you match your columns to Cendance fields, and lands people with their households already linked. You review everything before it goes in.

Can members see and update their own information?

Yes. The Eden member app lets people keep their contact details current, manage their household, register for events, give, and fill forms, and every change lands on the same record your team sees.

How is our people data protected?

Access is deny-by-default: staff see only what their role grants, down to individual areas of the product. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and our security practices and compliance program are documented on the trust page.

What does People cost?

Nothing. People is free: create your account, bring in your whole community, and manage it at no cost. You only pay when you add other Cendance products.

Do automations cost extra?

No. Cendance Flow, the automation layer, is included. Describe the automation you want in plain language or start from a template, and it runs across People and every other product you use.
